A swim hijab is a technical garment, not an accessory. It has to stay secure through diving and swimming, dry quickly enough to wear home, resist chlorine degradation, and remain comfortable when wet. Brands serving modest swim markets frequently source the burkini well and then pair it with a generic scarf that fails on all four counts. Producing the headpiece to the same standard as the body garment is what completes a credible modest swim offer.

Styles We Manufacture

Pull-on swim caps with an integrated neck drape, which is the most secure construction and the easiest for the customer to wear. Two-piece sets with an under-cap and outer scarf for adjustable coverage. Tie-back scarves with adjustable ribbon or elastic fastening. Hooded attachments that connect to the burkini top with snaps or a zip. Al-Amira style two-piece slip-ons. Extended-length drape versions for fuller chest and shoulder coverage. Each can be produced as a standalone SKU or bundled with a matching burkini set.

Fabric Options

Lightweight polyester spandex is the primary base — it dries fastest and resists chlorine well. A slightly heavier nylon spandex is available where more opacity is required, which matters because thin fabrics turn translucent when wet and that is an unacceptable failure in this category. We test opacity in the wet state during sampling, not just dry. Inner bands can be lined with a soft brushed knit for comfort against the hairline, and silicone grip tape is available at the inner edge to prevent slipping.

Construction & Craftsmanship Details

Seams are flatlock so nothing rubs against the scalp or neck during repeated head movement. The face opening is bound with soft elastic that holds shape without cutting in. Neck drapes are cut long enough to tuck securely into the burkini top and are finished with a coverstitch hem. Where snaps or zips connect the scarf to a burkini, we use corrosion-resistant hardware rated for saltwater. Elastic at the back of pull-on styles is encased rather than exposed. All internal seams are inspected for skin contact points before the garment passes QC.

Customization & Branding

Scarves are almost always sold matched to a burkini set, so print and Pantone matching across the two garments is the core requirement. We produce both from the same dye lot wherever the fabric base allows, which eliminates the slight tonal mismatch that undermines a set. Branding uses small woven labels at the inner back or heat-transfer labels for a fully tagless finish, since anything scratchy is intolerable in a head garment.

Sizing & Fit Development

Two sizes — S/M and L/XL — cover most of the market, and one-size adjustable versions with tie or elastic-back fastening reduce SKU count further. Head circumference and face-opening dimensions are the measurements that matter, and both should be confirmed on a physical sample rather than a spec sheet. If your target market skews toward a specific region, we can adjust the drape length accordingly, as coverage preferences vary noticeably between markets.

Packaging & Shipping

Scarves are lightweight and pack efficiently, either individually bagged or bundled with the matching burkini as a retail set. Set packing typically presents better at retail and supports a higher combined price point. Standard export documentation is provided with all freight options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the scarf stay on while swimming and diving?

Pull-on constructions with encased back elastic and optional silicone inner grip are designed for active swimming. Tie-back versions are better suited to leisure use.

Does the fabric become see-through when wet?

We test opacity in the wet state during sampling. Where more coverage is needed we specify a heavier nylon spandex base rather than relying on the dry-state appearance.

Can the scarf match my burkini exactly?

Yes. We produce both from the same dye lot where the fabric base allows, which avoids tonal mismatch between the pieces.

Can the scarf attach to the burkini top?

Yes — via corrosion-resistant snaps or a concealed zip. Hooded attachment styles are also available.

How many sizes should I stock?

S/M and L/XL cover most of the market. One-size adjustable versions reduce SKU count if you prefer to keep inventory tight.

What is the MOQ?

50 pcs per style per color. Scarves bundled with burkini sets count within the set MOQ.

Factory-direct pricing, sampling in 7–10 days, and photo updates at every production stage.
