Selling swim tops as standalone units is one of the highest-leverage decisions a swim brand can make. It doubles your SKU count from the same print, captures customers who size differently on top and bottom, and turns a single collection into a mix-and-match system. We manufacture the full range of top constructions, from unstructured triangles that cost very little to produce, through to underwire and cup-sized builds that command premium retail pricing.
Top Styles We Manufacture
Triangle tops in fixed or sliding configurations, with or without removable pads. Bandeau tops with silicone grip elastic and detachable halter or shoulder straps. Halter tops with tie-neck or metal clasp closure. Underwire tops with encased channelling and cup-sized grading. Longline tops with an underbust band, which currently perform strongly in the US and Australian markets. Bralette styles with soft cups and adjustable back closures. Fabric Options
Nylon spandex 80/20 gives the softest hand and the smoothest surface for solid colors. Recycled polyester spandex 84/16 holds sublimation print definition better and is GRS certified. For textured collections we run ribbed knits, crinkle, and terry. Power mesh is used as internal lining for support-heavy builds. All fabric options are chlorine and UV tested, and we can supply test reports on request for retail compliance.
Construction & Craftsmanship Details
Support is the whole game with tops. Removable cups sit in stitched pockets with a closed opening so they cannot escape in the wash. Underwire channels are encased in soft binding tape so the wire never contacts skin directly. Underbands use silicone-backed elastic to stop riding up. Strap adjusters are corrosion-tested zinc alloy. Tie ends are sealed and reinforced. On longline styles the band is cut on a separate pattern piece with its own elastic tension, which is what prevents the roll-up problem that plagues cheaply made longlines. Every stress point — strap join, ring attachment, clasp anchor — receives a bar tack.
Customization & Branding
Custom prints run on both sublimation and digital pigment depending on the base fabric. Pantone color matching is standard with one lab dip round included. Hardware can be logo-engraved at volume. Branding attaches via woven labels at the side seam or center back, heat-transfer tagless labels for skin comfort, or silicone patches at the strap. If tops sell as separates on your site, we can pack them individually with their own hangtag and barcode label.
Sizing & Fit Development
Two grading approaches are available. Alpha sizing (XS-3XL) suits unstructured triangle and bandeau styles and keeps your SKU count manageable. Cup sizing (B through E across band sizes) is the right call for underwire and longline builds, and it is what allows you to serve the fuller-bust customer that most swim brands ignore. We recommend fitting on a live model in your core size before grading, since bust support tolerances are tight and a paper-perfect pattern can still fail in wear.
Packaging & Shipping
Standalone tops are packed individually in poly bags with hangtag and optional barcode. If tops ship as part of a set, we pack matched with the corresponding bottom. Carton labelling includes style, color, size, and quantity for direct warehouse intake. Air express, air freight, sea, and rail options are all available with full export documentation.
