Cover-ups are the highest-margin add-on in swimwear. They cost less to produce than a swimsuit, carry a comparable retail price, and turn a single-item purchase into a set. Running your swim print across a matching sarong or kaftan is one of the simplest ways to lift average order value without acquiring a new customer.

Construction & Craftsmanship Details
Lightweight fabrics punish poor finishing, so hems are the priority. We use rolled hems, double-needle hems, or a narrow coverstitch depending on the fabric weight. Shirring at the waist or chest is inserted with elastic thread during sewing for even gather. Tie closures use self-fabric with sealed ends. Sleeve and neckline edges are bias-bound rather than raw-serged. Side seams on sheer fabrics run French seams so no raw edge shows through. Tassels, fringe, and pom-pom trims are hand-attached where specified.
Customization & Branding
Digital printing is the core of this category — tropical floral, botanical, abstract, and hand-painted artwork all reproduce cleanly on viscose and rayon. Matching a cover-up print to your swim styles requires scale adjustment, since a motif sized for a bikini will read as noise on a maxi kaftan; we handle that mapping during sampling. Branding uses woven labels, printed care labels, custom hangtags, and branded packaging. Trims such as tassels, wooden beads, and shell buttons are available for artisanal positioning.
Sizing & Fit Development
Sarongs and pareos are typically produced one-size, which keeps SKUs simple and inventory risk low. Kaftans and beach dresses grade S-XL, with generous ease built in. Beach pants require proper grading with attention to rise and inseam. For one-size items we recommend confirming the finished width and length dimensions on sample, since drape behaviour changes noticeably between fabric weights.
Packaging & Shipping
Cover-ups fold flat and ship efficiently, which makes them attractive freight-wise compared with structured garments. Each piece is packed in a poly bag with hangtag. Sets pairing a cover-up with swim pieces can be packed together as a single retail unit. Standard export documentation and all freight modes are available.
